The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong has officially welcomed its PGP Class of 2028, marking the beginning of the 2026-28 academic session. Students representing diverse geographies, experiences, and aspirations have begun arriving and settling into the residential campus. The batch was selected through a rigorous two-phase admissions process based on CAT 2025 performance, personal interviews, academic consistency, and diversity considerations. Approximately 380 students have joined the flagship two-year full-time residential programme that leads to an MBA degree. The selection framework balances CAT scores (40%), personal interview performance (40%), academic rating (10%), and gender diversity (10%), while incorporating category-wise reservations and proportional representation across academic disciplines. Final-year candidates were granted provisional admission, subject to completing their undergraduate degrees by December 2026.
